He’s now on the 40-man roster. Leon posted a 2.70 ERA while striking out 74 batters in 66 2/3 innings over three minor league levels in 2012. The 24-year-old is unlikely to win an Opening Day roster spot.

Leon appeared in just three Cactus League games for the A’s and was, of course, in the center of Mexico’s brawl with Canada in the WBC. He’ll get a shot with the big club at some point this season.

Leon was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays in mid-April after yielding two earned runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief at the major league level. The right-hander had been posting very good numbers at Triple-A Buffalo -- the Jays’ International League affiliate -- and he should fare well over in the KBO.

Leon has struck out seven but allowed three runs over 5 1/3 frames with the big club this season. Drew Pomeranz is taking his spot in the bullpen.

Leon’s heading back to the big club with Pat Venditte hitting the disabled list. In 5 1/3 innings with the A’s this season, Leon allowed three runs. He won’t be seeing high-leverage situations.

Leon was unscored upon in four Cactus League frames this spring. He’ll be part of Sacramento’s rotation.

Leon was up with the A’s briefly last month and holds a 4.26 ERA and 30/9 K/BB ratio over 25 1/3 innings at Nashville this season. He’ll presumably pitch out of the bullpen for now, although the A’s could give him a start with Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) out.

Leon has allowed three runs over 6 1/3 relief frames for the big club this season. He’ll get another chance later this summer.

Leon will serve as the 26th man during Wednesday’s doubleheader, providing some length out of the bullpen if needed. He’s posted a 4.34 ERA with 22 strikeouts over 29 innings at Triple-A Sacramento this season and will make making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
