Low Single-A Delmarva’s Brandon Tripp went 3-for-4 and hit his 14th homer on Tuesday.
Tripp is batting .310/.410/.592 this month and .302/.382/.537 in 285 at-bats on the season. Considering that he’s the product of a top college program (Cal State Fullerton), the Orioles should have moved him up to high-A ball in June. Instead, he’ll be playing there as a 23-year-old next season, meaning we still won’t know just how legitimate of a prospect he is.

Brandon Tripp has been named the Orioles’ Minor League Player of the Year.
Tripp, who spent the entire season at Class-A Delmarva, really developed his power this season, smacking 25 doubles and 19 homers for 79 RBI in 104 games. Radhammes Liz was named Pitcher of the Year and Brandon Snyder was tabbed as Comeback Player of the Year.

Brandon Tripp went 3-for-4 and hit his eighth and ninth homers Friday for low Single-A Delmarva.
Tripp, a 2006 12th-round pick out of Cal State Fullerton, is batting .372/.443/.667 in 129 at-bats. The Orioles should test him at high-A later this year in order to find out whether he’s a legitimate platoon prospect. The left-handed hitter has hit all nine of his homers this year against right-handed pitching.

Brandon Tripp hit his first two homers for Single-A Frederick on Sunday.
Tripp, the Orioles’ minor league player of the year in 2007, is hitting .308/.379/.538 in 26 at-bats. He’s not as highly thought of as some of the team’s other prospects, but he might emerge as a part-time player in the majors someday. Ideally, the Orioles would test him with Double-A if he continues to play well at Frederick for another month or so. He is 23 already.

Brandon Tripp homered twice and drove in five runs Wednesday for Single-A Frederick.
Tripp is no better than the fourth-best prospect in Frederick’s loaded lineup, but he still has the potential to reach the majors. The 23-year-old is hitting .288/.362/.519 in the Carolina League.
