Marlins selected LHP Braulio Lara from the Rays in the second round of Thursday’s Rule 5 Draft.
Lara had a rough 5.71 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 82/58 K/BB ratio in 112 innings this summer at High-A Charlotte. It’s not clear what the Fish want with the 23-year-old.

Marlins returned LHP Braulio Lara to Rays.
Lara has a big arm, but the Rule 5 pick was a longshot to stick even with the Marlins after posting a 5.71 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in A-ball last season. The 24-year-old allowed two runs over four spring innings.

Nationals signed LHP Braulio Lara to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Lara, who will turn 28 next month, held a 3.90 ERA over 25 relief appearances at Triple-A in the Giants organization in 2016 and also spent some time in Korea. He’ll compete for a bullpen job in spring training but is a long shot to crack the Opening Day roster.

Giants re-signed LHP Braulio Lara to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Lara, 27, posted a 6.08 ERA over 32 appearances -- five starts -- between Double- and Triple-A with the Giants last season. The southpaw has little chance of heading north with the big club.

The 26-year-old southpaw comes over from the Rays organization where he spent the first seven years of his minor league career. He struggled in 2014, posting a 5.77 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 57/31 K/BB ratio over 57 2/3 innings between Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham.
