Phillies acquired minor league left-hander Brian Mazone from the Dodgers for future considerations.
Mazone, 32, is expected to fill a spot in the Triple-A Lehigh Valley rotation, as either Carlos Carrasco or Andrew Carpenter will be plucked by the big league club before the weekend. Mazone, a former Phillies farm hand, is 0-1 with an 8.44 ERA in the minors this season. It’d be a shock to ever see him in Philadelphia.

The Phillies were going to call up left-hander Brian Mazone to make his major league debut Wednesday, but those plans changed with tonight’s rainout.
The club won’t need the extra starter because of the rainout, so the 31-year-old Mazone will remain in the minors and pitch for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the playoffs. Randy Wolf, tonight’s scheduled starter, will pitch tomorrow.
