    Brooks Kieschnick threw 49 pitches under simulated game conditions Saturday afternoon.
    Kieschnick, coming back from shoulder tendinitis reported no problems afterward. He is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Monday and should be activated from the DL in early September if all goes well.

    The contract was actually agreed to before arbitration figures were exchanged on Tuesday, but it wasn’t finalized because the Brewers wanted his shoulder examined. In addition to his salary, Kieschnick would get $25,000 bonuses for 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 65 games pitched. He also would get $1,000 per plate appearance from 51-60, $1,500 per plate appearance from 61-70 and $3,000 for each additional plate appearance.
