Braves re-signed RHP Brooks Wilson to a minor league contract.
The deal presumably includes an invitation to spring training. The 27-year-old right-hander, who has yet to reach the majors, made 11 appearances this season in Atlanta’s minor league system as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery.

Braves re-signed RHP Brooks Wilson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Wilson was actually non-tendered by the Braves and removed from the 40-man roster in the process, but the club quickly announced a new agreement. He didn’t pitch last season while recovering from Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery, but should be ready to go next spring. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a strong 2.34 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 84/19 K/BB ratio across 50 innings (39 appearances) during the 2021 season between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett.

Braves optioned RHP Brooks Wilson to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The 26-year-old was added to the Braves 40-man roster in November in order to protect him from the Rule 5 draft that never occurred this offseason. Wilson posted a 2.34 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 50 frames in the minors last season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Braves purchased the contract of RHP Brooks Wilson from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Wilson was very impressive in 2021, and the Braves will not risk losing him to the Rule 5 draft by selecting the contract. The right-hander struck out 84 hitters over 50 innings with a 2.34 ERA at the Double-A and Triple-A level. It’s not out of the question that Wilson could compete for relief innings this spring.
