Cubs sent C Caleb Knight outright to Triple-A Iowa.
Knight was up briefly for the Cubs at the conclusion of the regular season as emergency catching depth for Chicago, but didn’t end up getting into a game. The 28-year-old backstop has been removed from the club’s 40-man roster and will open next year back at Triple-A Iowa.
