    Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Chad Pinder plans to retire following his game with Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
    The 31-year-old outfielder is tired of bouncing around in the minor leagues and is ready to hang up his cleats -- at least for the time being. If this is indeed the last we have seen of Pinder, he winds up with a .242/.294/.417 career slash line with 62 homers, 197 RBI, five stolen bases and a 475/103 K/BB ratio over 1740 plate appearances across seven big league seasons with the Athletics.

    Braves signed OF Chad Pinder to a minor league contract.
    Pinder latches on with the Braves as extra position player depth a couple days after being cut loose by the Nationals following 16 games for Triple-A Rochester. The 31-year-old outfielder has appeared in 553 games in the majors since 2016.

    The 31-year-old outfielder had been stationed at Triple-A Rochester where he slashed .218/.307/.309 with one homer, four RBI and a 15/7 K/BB ratio across 62 plate appearances in his 16 games. He should be able to land another minor league pact elsewhere if he so chooses.

    Pinder failed to make the Reds’ season-opening roster earlier this spring and has quickly latched on with another rebuilding organization. The 30-year-old outfielder offers some defensive versatility, but he’s struggled at the dish over the last few seasons. He’s merely organizational depth at this stage of his career.

    Pinder looked like a strong candidate to make the Opening Day roster after signing with the Reds in January, but he hit just .103 (4-for-39) with nine strikeouts this spring. The 30-year-old has been a below-average hitter for the past four years, but still figures to find a gig elsewhere in the coming days.

    Reds signed INF/OF Chad Pinder to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
    Robert Murray of Fansided was the first to report the deal, while Mark Sheldon of MLB.com added that it was a minor league pact. The 30-year-old utilityman hit .237/.263/.391 with 11 long balls and 41 RBI in 325 at-bats with the Athletics during the 2022 campaign. He should benefit greatly from an improved supporting cast and the move to the hitter-friendly confines of the Great American Ballpark.

    Chad Pinder went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers.
    Pinder coming in with a nice performance in the come-from-ahead loss. The double was his 17th of the season. In addition, the veteran outfielder is working to a .237/.263/.391 triple-slash with 11 homers, 41 RBI and two steals across 325 at-bats. This was Pinder’s third three-hit effort in 96 games for the summer campaign.

    Chad Pinder went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer after pinch-hitting in Tuesday’s loss to the Braves.
    Pinder bopped a three-run homer off Dylan Lee with two outs in the fifth inning to tie up the contest at a hearty 9-9. The homer came after the A’s had fallen down by 6-1 and 9-5 deficits over the first half of the contest. On the whole this season, Pinder is slashing .234/.261/.389 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and two steals across 318 at-bats.

    Seth Brown is absent from the Athletics starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s tilt against the Nationals.
    It looks to be just a regular day of rest for the 30-year-old slugger. Chad Pinder will start in his place in right field and bat cleanup against Anibal Sanchez and the Nationals on Wednesday. Brown has hit .219/.288/.413 with 17 homers, 50 RBI and eight stolen bases in 119 games for the A’s this season.

    It’s the second time that Pinder has been on the pine in the A’s last three ballgames. The 30-year-old outfielder hasn’t been anything special at the dish this season, slashing .236/.264/.402 with 10 homers, 34 RBI and a 93/11 K/BB ratio over 285 plate appearances.
