    Cardinals released C Chance Sisco.
Sisco went 0-for-9 with six strikeouts in a handful of Grapefruit League contests this spring. The 30-year-old backstop hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2021. He was one of the top catching prospects in baseball last decade, but never wound up living up to expectations.
  • STL Shortstop #25
Cardinals optioned IF Thomas Saggese, IF Michael Helman and OF Matt Koperniak to Triple-A Memphis; reassigned RHP Michael Gomez, RHP Andre Granillo, C Gavin Collins, C Wade Stauss, C Chance Sisco, C Yohel Pozo, IFs César Prieto, IF RJ Yeager, OF Nathan Church and OF Ryan Vilade to minor league camp.
As we head into the final days of spring training, you’re going to see every club trim down their roster like this. The Cardinals now have just 31 players remaining in big league camp. Saggese’s best chance of making the Opening Day roster was for the Cardinals to trade Nolan Arenado, but as that still hasn’t happened he’ll be ticketed for Triple-A Memphis to start the 2025 campaign.

Cardinals re-signed C Chance Siso to a minor league contract.
Sisco returns to the fold with the Cardinals as emergency catching depth after latching on back in late August following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. The 29-year-old backstop was one of the top catching prospects in baseball years ago, but never really was able to carve out a role at the highest level. He hasn’t appeared in the majors since back in 2021.

Sisco heads to Triple-A Memphis as emergency catching depth for the Cardinals following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. The 29-year-old backstop was one of the top catching prospects in baseball last decade, but never really was able to carve out a role at the highest level. He’s bounced around between several stops the past few years and hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2021 season.

    Twins released C Chance Sisco.
Sisco re-signed with the Twins back in January and will look for a new opportunity elsewhere. It’s always possible he winds up back in Minnesota.

Twins re-signed C Chance Sisco to a minor league contract.
Sisco gives the Twins some emergency catching depth heading into the 2023 season. The 27-year-old former top prospect didn’t appear in the majors last year and got into just 10 games at Triple-A St. Paul in the Twins’ system. He’s a low-risk gamble for Minnesota.

Twins signed C Chance Sisco to a minor league contract.
Sisco was released by the Mariners last week after failing to make their Opening Day roster, but winds up latching on with the Twins in short order. The 27-year-old former top prospect will head to Triple-A St. Paul to open the regular season as extra catching depth.

    Mariners released C Chance Sisco.
With Tom Murphy, Cal Raleigh and Luis Torrens ahead of him in the pecking order, it sounds like Sisco was told that he wouldn’t be making the big league team, so they’re releasing him and giving him an opportunity to latch on elsewhere if he so chooses. The 27-year-old hit .222 (2-for-9) with a run scored and no RBI during Cactus League play.

Mariners signed C Chance Sisco to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sisco once ranked as a top-100 prospect as he was coming up through the Orioles’ system, but he has batted just .197 with a .654 OPS in 608 plate appearances at baseball’s highest level. The 27-year-old will serve as organizational depth at catcher for Seattle in 2022.

Chance Sisco has elected free agency.
Sisco was jettisoned from the Mets’ 40-man roster last week and will test the free agent market after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse. The 26-year-old former top prospect hasn’t hit at all in the big leagues, but he should be able to latch on somewhere as emergency catching depth this offseason.
