Brewers acquired LHP Chris Cody from the Tigers for RHP Jose Capellan.
Cody, 23, had just moved up to the Florida State League, where he allowed two runs over four innings in his debut Wednesday. He was 5-5 with a 1.77 ERA, 70 H and 92/15 K/BB in 91 1/3 innings for low Single-A West Michigan. While he was one of the Tigers’ most interesting prospects in the low minors, his ceiling isn’t that high. Still, it’s a fair return for Milwaukee, considering that the team had soured on Capellan.
