Yankees sent RHP Colby White outright to Double-A Somerset.
White passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will remain with New York as a project reliever. The 25-year-old has yet to ascend to the big leagues and was claimed off waivers earlier this month from Tampa Bay.

Yankees designated RHP Colby White for assignment.
The move makes room for Clayton Andrews on the 40-man roster. White had just been claimed from the Rays on May 9. He made two appearances for Double-A Somerset, giving up two runs in two-thirds of an inning.

Yankees claimed RHP Colby White off waivers from the Yankees.
White will head to Double-A Somerset as extra relief depth for New York after being jettisoned from Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 25-year-old reliever has yet to pitch in the majors after undergoing Tommy John surgery back in 2022. He’s an interesting lottery ticket for the Yankees.

Rays designated RHP Colby White for assignment.
The 24-year-old right-hander had a miserable showing this season at the Triple-A level with a 17.61 ERA across 7 2/3 innings. White had Tommy John surgery two years ago that made him miss most of the 2023 season, but he showed promise when he did return. If anything, maybe he just needs a fresh start with a new club.

Rays optioned RHP Colby White to Triple-A Durham.
The 24-year-old hurler continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in April of 2022. He’s expected to be an option for the Rays at some point around mid-season in 2023.

Rays selected the contract of RHP Colby White from Triple-A Durham.
The 24-year-old hurler was a sixth round draft pick of the Rays from the 2019 draft. After an unbelievable season across four minor league levels in 2021, White suffered a torn UCL in his pitching elbow and underwent Tommy John surgery in April of 2022 -- causing him to miss the entire season. He’s expected to return at some point during the 2023 campaign and the upside that he has already flashed is so substantial that the Rays didn’t want to risk exposing him to the Rule 5 draft.

Rays RHP prospect Colby White will undergo Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery.
White made the announcement on his personal Instagram account. The 23-year-old righty reliever, who cruised through four levels in the Rays’ minor-league system last year, will miss the entire 2022 campaign.

Colby White tossed an inning of scoreless ball while walking two in Sunday’s Grapefruit League matchup against the Twins.
In addition to the two walks, White struck out one without allowing a hit. Nice inning of work and all, but the young right-hander has yet to pitch at the big-league level and will likely open the 2022 campaign down at Triple-A Durham.
