Jurickson Profar was told he’s going to take a backseat to Corban Joseph at second base for now.
Profar hasn’t been as bad the rest of the season as he was in April, but he also hasn’t been good at any point, either offensively or defensively. It was disappointing that the A’s didn’t give Franklin Barreto more of a chance to take his job. They seem to have more faith in Joseph, even though he’s not really an upgrade with the glove. He probably will be better with the bat, though.
