Stange

Stange was released by the Diamondbacks last month after allowing eight runs (seven earned) over his first 2 2/3 innings with Triple-A Reno this season. The 26-year-old right-hander is currently pitching with Double-A San Antonio and will serve as organizational depth.

Stange posted a 6.14 ERA over 25 relief appearances with Triple-A Reno last year and allowed eight runs (seven earned) over his first 2 2/3 innings at the level this season. The 26-year-old will hope to latch on elsewhere.

The contract includes a spring training invite. Stange, who turns 27 in December, had a solid 3.35 ERA and 64/12 K/BB ratio in 53 2/3 innings at the Double-A level after joining the Padres in May. He’ll likely provide bullpen depth in the minors again in 2013.

Stange has exercised the opt-out clause in his contract. The right-hander has posted a 4.15 ERA with 43 strikeouts over 39 innings this season at Triple-A Tuscon. He’ll now look to catch on elsewhere.

Stange was released by the Padres recently after exercising his opt-out clause. He’ll provide depth at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Stange’s stay in the big leagues lasted about two weeks. He allowed six earned runs in four innings and is unlikely to be recalled anytime soon.

Stange struggled in his three appearances for the Angels and also at Triple-A, where he held a 4.52 ERA over 52 appearances. The 27-year-old shouldn’t have trouble netting a minor league deal this winter.

He’s now off the 40-man roster. Stange has allowed nine runs in his 5 2/3 career major league innings and put up a 4.52 ERA in 65 2/3 relief frames at Triple-A this season.

Stange made three appearances with the Angels this year, but spent the majority of the year in Triple-A where he had a 4.52 ERA over 52 appearances. He’ll likely serve as minor league bullpen depth for Washington.

The Diamondbacks needed an extra arm out of their bullpen after Leo Rosales went down with a foot injury. Stange, 24, has a 3.87 ERA over parts of five minor league seasons, averaging 9.6 K/9. He posted a 2.89 ERA over his first eight appearances with Reno this season.
