    Hale took the ball for the Phillies in an emergency spot start in place of righty Vince Velasquez, who was scratched shortly before his scheduled outing due to numbness in his right index finger. He finished with four strikeouts and only issued one walk. A solo homer by Miguel Rojas in the third inning represented the lone tally against him, but the Phillies’ lineup couldn’t get anything going to get him off the hook for the loss. The 33-year-old righty owns a 4.79 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 17/7 K/BB ratio over 20 2/3 innings this season.
