Braves transferred INF Diory Hernandez from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Hernandez hurt his non-throwing shoulder sliding into a base while playing in the Dominican winter league. He was transferred to the 60-day DL in order to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Brent Clevlen. The 25-year-old Hernandez will be out of commission until at least mid-season.

Despite Bobby Cox’s expectations to the contrary, Yunel Escobar (strained hip flexor) was out of the lineup for a fifth straight game Wednesday.
Escobar has shown hesitancy in his swings during batting practice while also losing lateral movement in the field. “He’s getting better,” Cox said. “But honestly, I don’t know when he can go. We can go a few more days without him.”
