Cardinals acquired C prospect Edgardo Rodriguez from the Rays as part of a six-piece trade.
Rodriguez signed with the Rays in 2018, and he’s hit well in his taste of short-season baseball with a career slash of .338/.389/.485 over 61 professional games. The 19-year-old is several years away from contributing, but he could be worth monitoring in deeper dynasty formats as the possible successor to Yadier Molina in St. Louis.
