Royals acquired RHP J.C. Sulbaran and LHP Donnie Joseph from the Reds for RHP Jonathan Broxton.
Sulbaran, the 899th overall pick in the 2008 Draft, isn’t much of a prospect. He’s posted a 4.68 ERA over 413-plus innings over four seasons on the farm. The 22-year-old should function as no more than an organizational arm for the Royals going forward.

Cardinals signed RHP J.C. Sulbaran to a minor league contract.
Sulburan, a 26-year-old right-hander, registered a disappointing 5.24 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 99/49 K/BB ratio across 132 1/3 innings between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha for the Royals in 2015. He’s nothing more than a depth signing.
