He’s now on the 40-man roster. Dunning put up a 4.10 ERA while striking out 53 over 68 innings at Richmond in 2012.

Dunning was added to the 40-man roster over the winter and posted a solid 1.75 ERA and 31/10 K/BB ratio through 36 innings this season in Triple-A. He figures to pitch in lower-leverage situations initially.

Dunning, 25, posted a solid 1.49 ERA over 34 appearances with the Giants’ Triple-A affiliate. He should continue to pitch in middle relief and will be auditioning for a 25-man roster spot next season.

The move clears a spot for Joaquin Arias’ return from the disabled list. Dunning has a 2.84 ERA and 14/6 K/BB ratio over 19 innings with the Giants and should be back later this summer.

Dunning was designated for assignment by San Francisco earlier this week and passed through waivers without getting claimed. The 25-year-old righty owns an uninspiring 5.88 ERA in 21 appearances this season at Triple-A.

Dunning made one scoreless appearance for the Giants in May but has struggled to the tune of a 5.88 ERA in 21 appearances this season at Triple-A Fresno. The 25-year-old right-hander could draw interest on waivers.

With Matt Cain on the disabled list and Yusmeiro Petit expected to assume his spot in the starting rotation, Dunning will provide much needed depth in the Giants bullpen. The 25-year-old posted a 2.84 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 16/11 K/BB ratio over 25 1/3 innings with the team in 2013.

Dunning made one scoreless appearance in his two-day stay with the major league club. The right-hander should be given another shot later this summer.

The 27-year-old hurler had a tough time in 46 innings at Triple-A Sacramento in 2015, compiling an 8.22 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 35/21 K/BB ratio. He’s merely organizational bullpen depth at this point.
