Pirates acquired INF/OF Jeff Larish from the Red Sox for cash considerations.
Larish recently signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox after being released by the Orioles. The 29-year-old owns a .224/.308/.380 batting line over 276 plate appearances in the big leagues, so he’ll likely function as organizational depth. He’s expected to report to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Red Sox signed INF/OF Jeff Larish to a minor league contract.
Larish was released by the Orioles last month. The 29-year-old has a lowly .224/.308/.380 batting line over 276 plate appearances in the big leagues and will serve as organizational depth.

Orioles signed INF/OF Jeff Larish to a minor league contract.
The deal does not include a spring training invite. Larish, a fifth-round pick of the Tigers in 2005, batted .240/.330/.449 with 13 homers, 37 RBI and a .779 OPS over 288 plate appearances with the Phillies’ Triple-A affiliate last season. The 29-year-old owns an underwhelming .224/.308/.380 batting line over 276 plate appearances in the big leagues, so look for him to serve as organizational depth for Baltimore.

Pirates re-signed INF/OF Jeff Larish to a minor league contract.
Larish was acquired from the Red Sox in spring training and spent last season with the Pirates’ Triple-A affiliate. He hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2010 and will continue to serve as organizational depth.

Jeff Larish provided all of the Pirates offense in Friday’s loss to the Red Sox, delivering a two-run single in his only at-bat.
The 30-year-old Larish hasn’t seen time in the big leagues since the 2010 season with the Tigers, but is hoping to make the Pirates Opening Day roster as a reserve infielder. While the odds are certainly against him, he at least got started out on the right foot.

Jeff Larish doubled three times and drove in five runs as the Saguaros topped Team China 15-2 in AFL play on Tuesday.
That’s three straight mercy-rule losses for China, as this one was stopped after 6 1/2 innings. The Saguaros also received contributions from Phillies prospect Joe Savery (three hitless innings) and Greg Golson (three-run homer, two walks).

In his first appearance of the season, Jeff Larish went 2-for-5 and homered Friday against the Rangers.
Everyone in Detroit’s lineup was hitting today, so Larish didn’t necessarily earn himself any additional playing time. However, the Tigers will eventually have to try him as a starter against righties after releasing Gary Sheffield. He’s earned it with his performance in the minors.

Miguel Cabrera left Thursday’s game after two innings with an apparent hamstring injury.
Cabrera was hurt running from first to second in the bottom of the second. The Tigers foolishly left him in initially, only to remove him after he stumbled home following Brandon Inge’s double. Jeff Larish took over at first base and would benefit most if Cabrera needs to miss some time.

Miguel Cabrera is being held out of Friday’s lineup, though he is available to pinch-hit, after tweaking his hamstring Thursday.
Jeff Larish should get the start in Cabrera’s place, with Magglio Ordonez taking over in the cleanup position. Hopefully for the Tigers, this won’t be too serious.

Tigers optioned infielder Jeff Larish to Triple-A Toledo.
Larish has hit .216/.344/.446 with four homers in 90 plate appearances with the Tigers this season, but heads back to Triple-A now that Marcus Thames is healthy again.
