P.J. Walters expects to be activated from the disabled list when eligible after an MRI revealed no structural damage with his right shoulder.
“I know I can pitch here,” Walters said. “I think I’ve shown I can pitch here, and it’s just a matter now of getting healthy and getting back out there and helping the team win some games.” The righty says this is the first start he’s ever missed, even dating back to his little league days. Jeff Manship is likely to take Walters’ spot in the rotation, though the Twins won’t need a fifth starter until June 23.
