Phillies signed RHP Jesse Beal to a minor league contract.
The former Orioles prospect spent the 2016 season pitching for Sussex County in the Independent Canadian-American Association where he posted a 2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 31/8 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings. He has never pitched above High-A ball, so for the time being he’s nothing more than organizational bullpen depth for the Phillies.
