    Phillies released RHP John Richy.
Acquired from the Dodgers in 2015 as part of the Chase Utley trade, Richy had registered a 6.81 ERA, 1.85 WHIP, and 23/11 K/BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings this season between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He was a third-round selection of the Dodgers in 2014 out of UNLV.

Phillies acquired RHP John Richy and INF/OF Darnell Sweeney from the Dodgers for 2B Chase Utley.
A third-round pick of the Dodgers in 2014, Richy is 10-5 with a 4.20 ERA in 124 1/3 innings with High-A Rancho Cucamonga this season. The 23-year-old is still a few years away but could slide into the back end of the Phillies starting rotation at some point.

Phillies RHP prospect John Richy threw seven shutout innings Tuesday in his debut for High-A Clearwater.
He scattered four hits and one walk but had to settle for a no-decision. Richy was acquired last week in a trade that sent Chase Utley to Los Angeles. Richy hasn’t fooled many hitters this year, posting a .282 average against with an underwhelming 1.39 WHIP. With that said, it’s way too early to give up on the former third-round pick.
