Lester Oliveros will undergo season-ending surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow.
Oliveros was shut down in June with elbow issues, but returned last month to make six appearances with Triple-A Rochester. However, he apparently didn’t feel much improvement. The 24-year-old right-hander posted a promising 2.42 ERA and 51/15 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
