Luis Soto drove in five runs with two homers and also walked yesterday for short-season Single-A Lowell.
The 19-year-old Soto, who moved from shortstop to right field this season, is batting .314/.387/.463 in 48 games. He has a great deal of offensive potential.

Luis Soto went 2-for-3 with three RBI and three walks yesterday in his first game for short-season Single-A Lowell.
Soto opened the season with Single-A Greenville, but he was sent to extended spring training after hitting .212/.247/.259 in 23 games. The Red Sox still really like the offensive potential of the 19-year-old. He’s expected to play right field regularly after opening his pro career as a shortstop.

Red Sox prospect Luis Soto missed the cycle by a single Friday for Single-A Greenville.
Soto opened last season at Greenville, but he hit just .212/.247/.259 in 23 games before being demoted to extended spring training. Assigned to short-season Single-A Lowell in June, he did quite a bit better the rest of the way, finishing at .293/.377/.431. The Red Sox will hope he’s ready for full-season ball at age 20 this year. He has as much power potential as anyone in the club’s farm system.
