Nationals signed RHP Luke Farrell to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 32-year-old right-hander spent the entire 2023 season at Triple-A Charlotte for the White Sox where he posted a 5.56 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and a 52/27 K/BB ratio across 55 frames. He has the ability to start and work out of the bullpen, so he’ll provide the Nationals with some extra pitching depth in a swingman capacity.

White Sox signed RHP Luke Farrell to a minor league contract.
Farrell made six appearances (two starts) last year between the Cubs and Reds. The 31-year-old veteran right-hander provides the White Sox with some extra relief depth at Triple-A Charlotte. He’s made 69 appearances (seven starts) in the majors dating back to 2017.

Luke Farrell has elected free agency.
The 31-year-old right-hander wound up appearing in just six games with the Reds and Cubs during the 2022 campaign -- posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 14/7 K/BB ratio over 15 innings. Given the overall lack of starting pitching depth around the league, Farrell shouldn’t have trouble landing a minor league contract with an invitation to big league camp this offseason.

Reds sent RHP Luke Farrell outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Farrell went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week. He’ll remain with the Reds as organizational pitching depth.

  • Relief Pitcher #22
Reds designated RHP Luke Farrell for assignment.
Farrell had just been claimed off waivers by the Reds from the Cubs. The right-hander will be on the waiver wire again, and if unclaimed could report back to Triple-A Louisville.

  • Relief Pitcher #22
Reds activated RHP Luke Farrell from Triple-A Louisville.
It is still up in the air if Luke Farrell will be called upon to start or pitch in relief for the Reds. Either way, he is not fantasy relevant at this point in time.

  • Relief Pitcher #22
Reds claimed RHP Luke Farrell off waivers from the Cubs.
The Reds could use him to start or relieve in the final weeks. Farrell has posted a 4.09 ERA over four appearances -- two starts -- in the majors this season.

  • Relief Pitcher #22
Cubs designated RHP Luke Farrell for assignment.
Farrell has been removed from the Cubs’ 40-man roster to make room for veteran lefty Wade Miley to return from the 60-day injured list. The 31-year-old righty has allowed five runs on 12 hits with a 9/3 K/BB ratio across 11 innings (four appearances, two starts) this season in the majors.

Luke Farrell yielded one run on six hits over 4 1/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Wednesday’s win over the Cardinals.
Farrell was making his first start of the 2022 season on Wednesday after practicing his craft at Triple-A these past few months. Only a Lars Nootbaar solo homer in the fifth served to put a damper on his evening. The 31-year-old right-hander finished his 4 1/3 innings of work having struck out three without walking a batter. While Farrell did well to hold his own against the Cardinals, rough numbers in the minors (5.03 ERA, 1.46 WHIP in 59 innings) make him a dubious fantasy play should he draw another turn through the major league rotation.

Cubs selected the contract of RHP Luke Farrell from Triple-A Iowa.
The 31-year-old hurler has spent the entire season at Triple-A Iowa thus far, registering a 5.03 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 49/28 K/BB ratio over 59 innings. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option against the Cardinals on Wednesday evening.
