    The deal also presumably includes an invitation to spring training. The 26-year-old former second-round pick finally ascended to the majors last season, getting into three contests for the Mariners. He spent two seasons in the Red Sox’ minor league system after being acquired in a trade with the Diamondbacks centered around Blake Swihart.

    The Mariners latest round of roster cuts include several big names with major-league experience including Paolo, Wojciechowski and Haggerty. All three will head to the minors, but will most likely get a chance in Seattle at some point relatively soon.
