Royals signed LHP Marion Arias to a minor league contract.
Arias last pitched professionally in 2009 for the Dodgers’ organization, posting an ugly 6.23 ERA over 26 innings in three minor league stops. The 27-year-old southpaw will serve as organizational depth.

Diamondbacks signed LHP Marlon Arias to a minor league contract.
The 32-year-old southpaw sat out the 2016 season after toiling in the Mexican League in 2015. He spent five years in the Dodgers’ organization from 2005-2009 and hasn’t pitched stateside since, though recently looked impressive in the Dominican Winter League. He’s nothing more than organizational depth for the D’Backs.

Dodgers prospect Marlon Arias threw a no-hitter Wednesday for Single-A Inland Empire.
Arias struck out 10 and walked two while lowering his ERA from 6.18 to 4.66. The left-hander isn’t viewed as much of a prospect as a starter, but he has the stuff to perhaps contribute as a reliever someday.
