While acknowledging that he would not be averse to having a power hitter like Michael Cuddyer at second base, manager Ron Gardenhire emphasized that Cuddyer is not being groomed for the position at Triple-A Rochester.
''Luis Rivas has been playing well lately,’' Gardenhire said. ''We just want Cuddy to get at-bats and move around.’' Even so, if Cuddyer can get into a game at second once he’s back with the Twins, his value will get a big boost in many leagues.
