Royals OF prospect Michael Gigliotti went 3-for-5 with a triple and a stolen base on Sunday for Low-A Lexington.
Gigliotti’s still gives him 29 on the season in 36 attempts in the Sally League. The triple is his first, and he now has 21 extra-base hits with one homer and 19 doubles. Drafted in the fourth round out of Lipscomb, Gigliotti has a .309/.394/.411 line over 59 games, and on top of double-plus speed, he has a quality approach and a line-drive swing from the left side. There’s very little power here, but the speed could compensate. Gigliotti has a high floor as a backup outfielder, but he might be a better fantasy prospect because of his speed and approach. Hopefully we get a chance to see what he can do at the higher levels soon.
