Mike Porzio will remain in the White Sox rotation for now, acting as the team’s fifth starter.
Porzio doesn’t figure to have any fantasy value, especially since the White Sox love to push back their fifth starter whenever possible.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Mike Porzio will get the start for the White Sox in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
The White Sox had hoped to use Gary Glover, but he was needed in relief on Friday.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Mike Porzio allowed three runs and five hits over five innings tonight in his second career start.
Porzio got the win, but since he was facing the Indians, his outing wasn’t especially impressive. Porzio will need to string together a few good starts before he can be recommended in AL-only leagues.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Indians reassigned LHP Mike Porzio to minor league camp.
Porzio has not pitched this spring because of tendinitis in his left shoulder.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Indians signed LHP Mike Porzio to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Porzio, 31, got a chance to spend last season as a starter, posting a 4.24 ERA for Triple-A Charlotte and going 1-1 with a 6.43 ERA in three starts for the White Sox. The Indians will probably shift him back to the pen and have him open the season at Triple-A Buffalo.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Making his first major league start, Mike Porzio allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings tonight against the Indians.
Porzio took the loss despite his decent outing. He’s expected to return to the minors after the All-Star break.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
White Sox recalled LHP Mike Porzio from Triple-A Charlotte.
Porzio’s been used as a starter this year, but if he has a future in the majors, it’ll be as a reliever. He’ll be used as a lefty specialist until the White Sox bring back their fifth starter.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Mike Porzio gave up four runs in 3 1/3 innings tonight against the Devil Rays.
Porzio isn’t a long-term option as a fifth starter and the White Sox don’t seem to want to turn back to Dan Wright. Don’t be surprised if they pick up someone at the deadline.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
White Sox optioned LHP Mike Porzio to Triple-A Charlotte.
The White Sox seemed pleased with Porzio’s first two starts, but they obviously weren’t happy with Saturday’s effort. When Porzio returns to the majors, it will probably happen as a reliever. The White Sox will choose someone else next time they need a fifth starter.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
White Sox designated LHP Mike Porzio for assignment.
Very surprising. The White Sox liked Porzio enough to make him their fifth starter in July, but now he’s been passed by Jose Paniagua and Jon Adkins, neither of whom have shown any sign that they’re capable of helping a major league team right now.
