Mike Thompson recorded his second big league victory by holding the Braves to one run in seven innings of work tonight.
The lone run Thompson gave up came on a solo blast by opposing starter Jorge Sosa. Thompson gave up just four hits, didn’t walk a batter, and struck out two, so he needed only 78 pitches to complete the seven innings. We don’t think Thompson is going to have long-term value in NL-only formats, but he’s yet to walk a batter in two outings and has allowed just four earned runs in 12 innings as a result. He’s worth using against the Rockies at Petco Park next week.
