Dodgers OF prospect Mitchell Hansen smashed two homers as part of a three-hit night Monday in a win for Rookie-level Ogden.
Both homers were solo shots. Hansen has now left the yard in three of his last eight at-bats. Monday also extended his hitting streak to seven games. The 20-year-old still has a long way to go but he’s been a force for the Raptors this year, batting .364 with a league-high six homers, 15 RBI and four steals. Hansen also ranks fifth in the Pioneer League with 32 hits and sixth in slugging percentage (.602).

Dodgers outfield prospect Mitchell Hansen will be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks following surgery to remove bone spurs from his left elbow.
Hansen’s rehab will cut into spring training, but it’s not really a major procedure and he should be playing in minor league games by mid-April. Drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2015, the 20-year-old slashed .311/.356/.491 with 11 home runs and 11 stolen bases in 70 games last season for the rookie-level Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League.

Dodgers select high school outfielder Mitch Hansen in the second round (No. 67 overall) of the 2015 draft.
Hanson is an impressive athlete who also starred as quarterback at Plano Senior HS (Texas.). On the diamond, the 19-year-old outfielder is a left-handed hitter who projects for an above-average hit tool, and scouts believe there’s also untapped power to his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame. Hansen is an above-average runner with enough arm strength to hold down a corner outfield spot. The major concern with Hansen, a Stanford commit, is his signability, as we don’t often see players pass on their commitment to the Cardinal.

    Dodgers released OF Mitchell Hansen.
A second-round pick in 2015, Hansen was hitting just .231 with two homers in 32 games for Low-A Great Lakes. The 22-year-old owns a .256 lifetime average with 25 homers across 953 minor league at-bats.
