According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Astros could pursue trading starter Brett Oberholtzer. He adds that the Phillies, Orioles, Reds, and Rangers are potential suitors for the left-hander.

Oberholtzer, 26, missed a tremendous amount of time in the first half of the season due to a blister on his throwing hand. He made only eight starts in the majors overall, finishing with a 4.48 ERA and a 27/17 K/BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings. The lefty impressed as a rookie in 2013 but struggled in ’14, compiling a 5-13 record over 24 starts.

Despite Oberholtzer’s performance and injury woes, his age and contract status -- he’s under team control through 2020 -- will make him attractive to teams looking for cheap starting pitching.
