Last week’s Red Sox-A’s swap may end up being the least impactful in baseball history.

Jason Rice, who the A’s acquired, was waived and claimed by the Indians just days after the trade, so Oakland lost him for nothing.

Conor Jackson, who the Red Sox acquired, injured his knee running into the right-field wall in front of the bullpen at Fenway Park in his third game and remains unavailable five days later.

Asked about Jackson’s status, manager Terry Francona told Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com: “We’re trying to get over the hump. We’re trying to get him available for a game and I don’t know that we’re there yet.”
