Regardless of what happens in Game 3 tonight the Cubs are planning to start right-hander Jason Hammel in Game 4 of the NLDS, according to Patrick Mooney of CSNChicago.com.
Hammel started 31 games with a 3.72 ERA for the Cubs during the regular season, posting a 172/40 K/BB ratio in 171 innings while allowing 24 homers.
St. Louis is expected to start Lance Lynn in Game 4, but it’s possible the Cardinals will turn to John Lackey on short rest if they’re at risk of being eliminated with a loss.
