Erick Aybar taken to the hospital because he got a chicken bone stuck in his throat

Checking in to see how the Braves’ season is going so far and . . .

Erick Aybar was taken to a nearby hospital to have a chicken bone removed from his throat.

He apparently had to be sedated to have the bone removed and has been scratched from the lineup for tonight’s game against the Pirates.

I’m presuming he’s OK or else the team wouldn’t have released the information, so I think it’s safe for all of us to weigh in on whether this is worse than Joel Zumaya getting hurt playing Guitar Hero or John Smoltz burning himself while ironing a shirt he was wearing. Or pick a winner of your own.

We can also weigh in on whether or not this will serve as the perfect bit of symbolism for the 2016 Braves or, rather, if things will get worse. I’m guessing they get worse.
