ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports that the Red Sox, though out of the playoff hunt, are looking at improving their pitching staff for the long term, saying that they “like Tyson Ross a lot,” and have talked to the Indians about Carlos Carrasco.
As mentioned earlier, Carrasco is under contract for a while and Ross is team controlled for two more years as well.
Boston is dead last in ERA in the American League, has the third worst batting average against and is third in issuing walks. So yeah, either of these guys would help out considerably.
