Jon Heyman is hearing that the Reds are “contemplating” a call-up for top prospect Nick Senzel and that it could happen as soon as Friday. Friday would make sense as that’s when the Reds begin their next home stand.
Senzel, a 23 year-old center fielder who has played second and third in the past, got a late start to the season due to a late spring training ankle injury, but he’s back now and is hitting .296/.345/.444 through six games with Triple-A Louisville. Last year he hit .310/.378/.509 with six home runs and 25 RBI in 193 plate appearances.
