Roberto Alomar will be wearing on a Blue Jays hat on his plaque when he’s inducted into the Hall of Fame later this year and in the meantime he’s joined the organization as a “special assistant.”

According to Mark Zwolinski of the Toronto Star he’ll “serve his role in baseball operations and the Toronto community” and “will continue to lend his expertise to developing players at all levels of the Jays farm system.”

Alomar began his career in San Diego before heading to Toronto with Joe Carter in a blockbuster trade for Fred McGriff and Tony Fernandez. He played five seasons with the Blue Jays, making the All-Star team and winning a Gold Glove each year, and the Blue Jays won back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993.
