As noted by Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Astros starter Roy Oswalt collected the 1,500th strikeout of his career Thursday against the Reds. Here’s a look at where he stands on the active list:

3. Andy Pettitte - 2172

5. Kevin Millwood - 1836
6. Johan Santana - 1761
7. Livan Hernandez - 1725

As for the all-time list? Well, he ranks 171st, right behind Goose Gossage (1502 career strikeouts) and Paul Derringer (1507). Oswalt, 32, entered Thursday’s start against the Reds with a 2-2 record, 1.00 WHIP, 2.42 ERA and 21/5 K/BB ratio through four starts this season.
