The Marlins got mad at Jarred Cosart for having stubble

Jarred Cosart showed up on Wednesday with a little bit of stubble. Even a bit of stubble goes against the Marlins’ newly-instituted facial hair policy. The club got on Cosart about it, according to MLB Network Radio’s Casey Stern. Manager Don Mattingly said, “Make sure I’m not the one telling you to shave.”

It’s weird to think of Mattingly as a stern enforcer of a no-facial-hair policy, as his mustache was part of what defined baseball in the mid-1980’s through the early ’90’s.

At any rate, Cosart looks good with facial hair.
