As first reported by USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the White Sox have agreed to terms on a four-year pact with free agent reliever David Robertson. CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman says it’s worth $46 million.

The White Sox signed Adam LaRoche to a two-year, $25 million free agent contract in late November and reportedly have the parameters of a trade in place for A’s starter Jeff Samardzija. They’re looking to make their move in the American League Central.

Robertson, 29, owns a 2.20 ERA, 1.097 WHIP, and 12.3 K/9 in 258 innings since the beginning of the 2011 season. He tallied 39 saves for the Yankees in 2014.

It’s pretty amazing how quickly and creatively GM Rick Hahn has turned Chicago into a contender.
