MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch reports that the Yankees have signed infielder Scott Sizemore to a minor league deal and placed him on the Triple-A disabled list.
The Yankees had released Sizemore on July 31, and Sizemore did draw some limited outside interest -- particularly from the Athletics -- but he decided to go back to the Yankees. He has had 16 plate appearances in the majors for the Yankees this season, singling three times, doubling twice, and knocking in four runs.
Over 268 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Sizemore posted a .272/.332/.424 slash line with four home runs and 35 RBI.
