Oswaldo Sosa allowed one hit in six scoreless innings and struck out nine for Single-A Fort Myers on Sunday.
Sosa is 1-2 with a 2.60 ERA, 42 H and 42/15 K/BB in 45 IP. He’s not an extreme groundball pitcher, but he’s allowed just one homer this season and three since the beginning of 2006. The Twins can move him up to Double-A as soon as they have an opening there.

Oswaldo Sosa made his debut for Double-A New Britain on Sunday and allowed two runs in five innings.
Sosa was 5-5 with a 2.23 ERA, 94 H and 82/36 K/BB in 105 innings for Single-A Fort Myers. He’s allowed just four homers in more than 260 innings over the last two seasons. While the stuff isn’t there to make him a top pitching prospect, the odds seem pretty good that he’ll be able to help the Twins, even if it’s just as a middle reliever.
