Braves placed LHP Robert Fish on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with left elbow tendinitis.
Fish made three appearances this spring before being shut down due to soreness. The 24-year-old left-hander was selected from the Angels in December’s Rule 5 Draft, but the Braves get to keep him around as long as he’s on the disabled list.

Braves selected LHP Robert Fish from the Angels in the Rule 5 draft.
Fish was also selected in last year’s draft but was unable to crack the 25-man roster. He finally was able to get some results this past season with that nice arm of his, holding a 3.26 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 41/18 K/BB ratio over 30 1/3 innings at Double-A. The 23-year-old can touch the mid-90s with his fastball and flashes and average, albeit inconsistent, curveball. He’ll try to win a spot in the Braves pen.

Braves transferred LHP Robert Fish from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Jeff Baker has officially been added to the roster in a corresponding move. Fish, a Rule 5 pick, has been out since March 25 and isn’t likely to return this season.

Braves sent LHP Robert Fish outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Fish missed the entire 2012 season because of an elbow injury. He is now off the Braves’ 40-man roster.

Yankees selected LHP Robert Fish from the Angels with the 28th pick in the Rule 5 Draft.
Fish, who turns 23 in January, compiled a 6.79 ERA over 49 relief appearances in the minor leagues this past season, including an 8.93 ERA and 48/18 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings with Double-A Arkansas. He’s unlikely to make the team, but it’s worth taking a look at someone who throws 95 MPH from the left side.

Royals claimed LHP Robert Fish off waivers from the Yankees.
The 23-year-old compiled a 6.79 ERA over 49 relief appearances in the minor leagues this past season, including an 8.93 ERA and 48/18 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings with Double-A Arkansas. So why was he drafted by the Yankees from the Angels with the 28th pick in the Rule 5 Draft? Because he deals a 95 MPH fastball from the left side. He didn’t have much of a shot to crack the Yankees’ roster, but could conceivably make the Royals if he shows potential over the next few weeks.

Royals returned Rule 5 LHP Robert Fish to the Angels.
Fish was taken by the Yankees in the Rule 5 draft and then claimed by the Royals two weeks ago after failing to win a spot. With Fish gone, it seems like a given that Tim Collins will have a spot in Kansas City’s pen.
