    García landed on the injured list back in late July due to right shoulder soreness and hasn’t resumed throwing. He simply doesn’t have enough time to make it back to Detroit this season. The positive news is that he won’t require surgery and should be ready to go next spring.

    The good news, is that it’s a different injury than the shoulder soreness that caused Garcia to miss the last month of action before returning on Sunday. The bad news, is that he’ll be shut down completely from throwing until the issue subsides. Expect the 24-year-old hurler to be shelved for a while.

    The Tigers confirmed that Garcia was dealing with right shoulder soreness after he was removed in the third inning against the Twins. It’s the same issue that landed him on the injured list earlier this month. Another stint on the IL seems likely.
