    Meisinger signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks in late March and struggled this season at Triple-A Reno, posting a lackluster 6.14 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 16/7 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings (13 appearances). The 28-year-old righty made seven relief appearances last year for the Cubs and should be able to find another opportunity as extra relief depth.

    It’s has been an eventful week for the 27-year-old hurler. He was designated for assignment by the Cubs, claimed off of waivers by the Dodgers, then optioned to Triple-A by the Dodgers without having appeared in a game, and now he’s sent outright to Triple-A. He’ll continue to serve as additional bullpen depth.

    The two pitchers will head to the minor league side of Cubs camp and give the team some added emergency bullpen depth. Meisinger, 26, tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief last season with the Cardinals.
