    Perez has yet to ascend past High-A and spent all of last season pitching in relief at Single-A Fort Meyers. The soon-to-be 24-year-old southpaw is merely organizational fodder at this stage of his career.

    Twins re-signed LHP Samuel Perez to a minor league contract.
    The 23-year-old left-hander will return for a third season in the Twins organization. He has yet to break through to pitch above High-A ball. Perez posted a 3.93 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 46/18 K/BB ratio over 52 2/3 innings between Class-A Fort Myers and High-A Cedar Rapids in 2022.

    Twins re-signed LHP Samuel Perez to a minor league contract.
    Perez was released by the Angels last March, but wound up latching on with the Twins in June. The 22-year-old southpaw posted a sparkling 1.45 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 39/5 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (13 appearances, one start) for the Twins’ rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate last season. He’ll head to Low-A Fort Myers to start the 2022 season.
