Angels sent INF Sean Coyle outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Coyle was designated for assignment by the Angels earlier this month and made it through waivers unclaimed. He will remain organizational depth for Anaheim.

Angels claimed INF Sean Coyle off waivers from the Red Sox; optioned him to Double-A Arkansas.
Coyle was designated for assignment by the Red Sox just before the All-Star break. The 24-year-old has struggled offensively this year, hitting just .165 with 86 strikeouts in 218 at-bats between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket.

Red Sox designated INF Sean Coyle for assignment.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Michael Martinez. Coyle has hit an ugly .165/.263/.280 between Double- and Triple-A this season.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman
Angels designated 2B Sean Coyle for assignment.
The Angels needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Nick Buss. Coyle has struggled since the Angels claimed him off waivers from the Red Sox last month, hitting only .141 in 21 games for Double-A Arkansas. The former third-round pick is still waiting to make his big league debut.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman
Orioles signed INF/OF Sean Coyle to a minor league contract.
Coyle once looked like a solid prospect with the Red Sox, but he has battled injuries over the past couple of years. The 24-year-old batted just .181/.269/.293 in 104 games in the minors this year with the Red Sox and Angels.

Facing his former team, Sean Coyle hit a three-run homer in his lone at-bat Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Coyle, Boston’s third-round pick in 2010, signed with the Orioles as a minor league free agent in December. He posted strong numbers early in his minor league career before dealing with injuries and struggling mightily the last two years. The Orioles aren’t counting on him for anything, but if healthy, he could surprise in Triple-A.

Sean Coyle socked a two-run homer in the ninth inning Thursday in the Orioles’ Grapefruit League tie with the Phillies.
Coyle only had one at-bat, but it was a good one. His two-run shot off Michael Mariot accounted for Baltimore’s only runs of the night. It also tied the game at 2-2. Coyle hasn’t seen a ton of action this spring (only eight at-bats) but has done well when called upon. He’ll likely begin his 2017 campaign in Triple-A.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman
    Orioles released INF Sean Coyle.
The 25-year-old was hitting an abysmal .187/.273/.306 with one homer, eight RBI and a 36/16 K/BB ratio across 150 plate appearances in 42 games at Double-A Bowie. He’ll try to find another opportunity on a minor league deal.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman
Red Sox optioned INF Sean Coyle to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Coyle, a third-round pick from 2010, batted .295/.371/.512 with 16 homers and 13 stolen bases over 97 games last season with Double-A Portland. The 27-year-old was added to the 40-man roster in November.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman
Red Sox optioned INF Sean Coyle to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Coyle enjoyed a big 2014, but a back injury limited him to 52 games last year and he batted just .159/.274/.302 in Triple-A. The 24-year-old will hope for better luck on the health front in 2016.
