Rockies acquired RHP Sean Smith from the Indians to complete the Jamey Carroll trade.
Smith, 24, had a 4.00 ERA and a 20/10 K/BB ratio in 18 innings for Triple-A Buffalo. Last year, he went 9-7 with a 4.25 ERA, 130 H and 90/58 K/BB in 133 1/3 IP for the same team. His acqusition adds to Colorado’s pitching depth, but he’s a middle reliever at best.
